Becoming detached from your being seems to be a common occurrence in modern life. Inspired by a podcast with Caitlin Moran, where she described detachment as a teenager:
‘I felt like a brain in a jar […] I don’t think the brain can understand the body […] I’m going to have to put my body in these situations, so it realises I’m alive and I am in it.’
Connecting both the mind and body to be present in the moment is a mindful act that needs more recognition. This series is based on a journey which should be but is not always a fundamental part of living – filling yourself with care and love.
