Clothes make the man
Subject:Abstract, Fashion, Other

Artwork reflects contemporary emphasis on fashion. Clothing suggests an idea of who a completely unknown person can be. We can distinguish even a profession of someone just by looking at him.

Zipper – as a symbol of fashion here – can be seen in two opposite meanings. A big zipper constructed of a human DNA is collapsed into a piece of very important fashion detail (there is the hidden metaphor – clothes here literally make a man). On the other hand, there is a tiny (life size) realistic zipper which points to a sense of humanity and reduces the importance of fashion to shallow superficiality.

Diptych – Clothes make the man – discusses the big importance that the clothing is given nowadays and juxtaposes it with the fact, that it all is just inflated ridicule.
