This artwork is part of a series where I have been using my painting as a journey of soul searching. Having suffered from serious depression, I have been trying to portray my sense of being lost. There is a purposeful lack of clarity in the abstract image, like trying to see through a thick fog. The bright colours show the possibility of a vivid beautiful world, but it’s out of reach. The vertical marks are produced by using the edge of the pallet knife and brush on the wet oil paint. The marks represent the painful search for peace, trying to clear the fog, searching for serenity and calm in a tormented mind. Also available as limited edition Giclee prints and prints onto brushed aluminium.
