Portrait 29 is part of the ongoing series ‘Artist Portraits’ by Visual and 3D artist Roberto Voorbij. It’s a limited edition giclée print featuring Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh. The series of collages was originally commissioned by ARTISTS NOT ARMIES. All portraits of the series follow the same concept; an artist portrait in which the face of the artist is replaced by one of their most significant artworks.
“The original portrait that has been used for ‘Portrait 29: Van Gogh’ shows Vincent van Gogh at the age of thirteen. The young age corresponds with the artwork ‘Almond Blossom’. The eyes coincide with flower buds, twigs with blood vessels”…. Roberto Voorbij
