From my ‘Theme Park’ series which contains scenes from a local funfair. Rather than arousing nostalgia on my part, the place seemed eerily reflective of the age. The bolt action rifle stall brought to mind extinctions and wildlife slaughter, not to mention death squads, armed nationalists and small-town killing sprees. Maybe some candy floss or a visit to the park’s Disney Cottage would have cured my paranoia, but the shadows in adjacent woodland looked increasingly sinister.
