I was doing a residency at The Ou Gallery on Vancouver Island .

With no premeditated plan I was collecting objects and images I found on the island. This image is one of the first works that I’ve made there,

Being surrounded by so much nature really reminded me of how great it is to take your time and just observe. We are always so consumed with (our) time and clocks whilst in nature you find time in the rings of trees and the changing of the seasons.
