The Kimmeridge is Oxford’s first Build-to-Rent development, a purpose-built development providing high quality, well managed homes to renters in Oxford. In addition to new homes, residents of The Kimmeridge will benefit from a range of social spaces, including a lounge, gym, co-working space and external terrace.
Residents of The Kimmeridge will also benefit from Grainger’s dedicated onsite Resident Services team, who are based onsite as a friendly face to welcome residents, but also on hand to assist with anything residents need. The team play a pivotal role in building a sense of community onsite, establishing The Kimmeridge as a place where people can stay longer and put down roots.
Utilising their local knowledge, we’d like entrants to submit a proposal bringing to life their idea for an artwork that’s to be the centrepiece of the resident amenity space at The Kimmeridge. The aim is for the commissioned artwork to be symbolic of the local area, significant to the artist, and to delve into the city of Oxford and the feelings it evokes.
All forms of artwork are accepted. Please include a brief description (max 300 words) of your work and its inspiration. Additionally, please give an approximate production cost to create your final artwork and a timeline for final artwork curation.
The total wall space for the final piece of artwork will be 3000mm by 2300mm in size, so please ensure your artwork can be scaled to this size if commissioned.
A budget, up to a maximum of £2000, will be allocated to the artists for supplies to facilitate the creation of the commissioned art. Itemised materials list to be provided to Grainger plc for ordering.
The chosen artist (s) will have a maximum of one month to complete the commissioned artwork ahead of a VIP unveiling event in early 2025.
-
Once the submissions have been judged by our panel, one artist will be selected, to be commissioned by Grainger to create an artwork to be installed within The Kimmeridge.
The panel consists of a Grainger representative and Calum Hall, Founder of Creative Debuts.
We reserve the right to refuse work that doesn't meet the terms and conditions. The judges' decision is final. Artists will be notified of the outcome shortly after the selection process, whether selected or not.
