Nana is a Toronto based illustrator/designer of Ghanaian descent. She specialises in art that promotes racial equity, liberation, peace and justice. With a drive for anti-oppressive design, she aims to create social change through creativity. Inspired by her faith in Jesus, her roots and her love for story-telling, her work explores themes of womanhood, God/spirituality, Culture, Blackness, social concerns, Identity, Symbolism and beyond. "I aim to make art that catches the countenance of God, that captures His angles and His colours. Whether I'm making art to show the beauty of femininity or making art to raise critical consciousness, my goal is to merely be an ambassador for the message God has placed within me." Nana's primary mediums are Digital, pen & ink and acrylic.
