Toronto based artist, Ugonna Ikechi, has been honing his painting skills since his first solo exhibition in 2016. He has since hosted and participated in several showcases in Canada and Nigeria. Equipped with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and vast experience in art/design, the artist produces pieces that fuse thought-provoking symbolism and visually pleasing imagery. Ugonna's work aims to reflect the human experience in all its complexities, by drawing inspiration from culture, language, religion, history, music, nature and other pillars of existence. This practice of mindful consumption and production by the artist serves as a vehicle for self discovery and actualisation, with hopes of positively impacting our collective perceptions of identity and purpose.
